In January 2010, Sequoyah Memorial welcomed a new face to the team of physicians! Mahendra Shah, MD, joined the hospital as the new Urologist! Dr. Shah is married with two children and is certified for life by the Board of Urology. He received this certification in February 1980. Dr. Shah completed his medical education at MS University of Baroda Medical College in Baroda, India. He completed a rotating internship at The Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Jamaica, New York. Dr. Shah completed a surgery residency at West Chester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. His Urology practice has taken him from Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, to New Rochelle Hospital in New Rochelle, New York, The Medical Center of Delaware Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware, The Memorial Hospital in Danville, Virginia, and Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Dr. Shah also was in private practice for more than 20 years. He has written numerous publications and given many publications related to urology topics. Dr. Shah also enjoys playing cards, tennis, swimming, and collecting coins and stamps.

Dr. Shah will have the ability to perform a number of procedures at Sequoyah Memorial and will also hold a clinic for patients troubled with urological issues. Patients who need to be seen by a urologist are referred by their physician. At Sequoyah Memorial, patients will have the ability to be seen by a board-certified urologist and also have procedures done, all locally, and in a cost-effective manner!
