SEQUOYAH MEMORIAL HOSPITAL LIBRARY

Sallisaw is bursting with young people! One of the city’s best happens to be Jade Baldridge, a student at Sallisaw High School. Recognizing the need for additional services and resources at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital for patients as well as employees, Jade began working to establish a library in the hospital. Receiving donations from individuals as well as businesses and churches, Jade began to build a significant amount of books, novels, and publications to be made available to hospital patients and employees.

The library opened in June of 2006. Since its opening, patients and employees have been taking advantage of the diverse reading material available. Jade worked very hard to establish the library in the hospital- sorting, cataloguing, and labeling every book and publication donated. She continues to give her time during the week, ensuring the books are sorted, organized, and shelved in the proper manner.

The library has been a huge success for Sequoyah Memorial Hospital. The hospital is proud of any important service it can provide to its patients and employees. The staff and patients of SMH thank Jade for her time, energy, and most importantly, thoughtfullness during this undertaking.

The library is a great addition to the many services the hospital provides.
